Botanical Overview

Common Speedwell (Veronica officinalis) is a flowering plant in the Scrophulariaceae family. Traditional medicine systems have documented several valuable applications for this species, supported by its observed therapeutic effects. The figwort family (Scrophulariaceae) includes herbs and shrubs with alternate or opposite leaves and two-lipped, often showy flowers. The fruits are typically capsules with many small seeds.
