Sicilian Sumac

Botanical Overview

Sicilian Sumac (Rhus coriaria) is a flowering plant in the Anacardiaceae family. The traditional uses of this species reflect its genuine medicinal value, validated by generations of practical experience. The cashew family (Anacardiaceae) includes trees and shrubs with resinous bark and leaves containing phenolic compounds such as urushiol, which can cause contact dermatitis.
