Botanical Overview

Calabash Gourd (Lagenaria siceraria) is a flowering plant in the Cucurbitaceae family. The traditional uses of this species reflect its genuine medicinal value, validated by generations of practical experience. The gourd family (Cucurbitaceae) includes climbing or trailing vines with tendrils, large alternate leaves, and showy yellow or white flowers that are typically unisexual. General Description

When it is fresh, the fruit has a light green smooth skin and white flesh.
